Payment Policy: Quality vs. Convenience
The current Dig This Volleyball Payment Policy was created to give our community flexibility that’s rare in sports organizations. Unlike most programs that require payment with every RSVP, we’ve tried to balance everyone’s busy schedules and the strong desire to play by offering greater convenience.
However, that flexibility also creates significant pressure on our organizers to keep events open and accessible for everyone who wants to participate. From our side, attendance and waitlists often appear full — until, at the last minute, they’re not.
When that happens, we face difficult adjustments, such as:
Redirecting players to smaller events
Merging sessions
Changing locations, and
In some cases, canceling events altogether
Our goal is to maintain the highest possible quality across all events. We’re grateful for the generous feedback we’ve received — many of you have said that Dig This hosts some of the best volleyball experiences around. But that quality depends on more than just strong organization, coaching, and hosting. It depends on consistent attendance — the synergy between our organizers and our players.
So the key question is: How do we continue to keep quality high?
The answer has always been the same: we need to know, as early as possible, how many players are truly planning to attend. This is where the community plays a critical role — not just in supporting the organizers, but in supporting one another.
We’ve noticed that RSVPs don’t always mean “I’m attending” — sometimes they mean “I might attend.” And that’s understandable; life happens. But if we want to maintain high-quality events while keeping the current flexible payment policy, we need to evolve what “RSVP” means.
Perhaps we should start thinking of it as “Responding Soon Via Payment!”
You may have seen more active RSVP and waitlist updates lately — this is part of our effort to establish true attendance. Now you know the “why” behind it: to keep event quality high without changing our payment approach.
It’s also important to acknowledge and thank those players who consistently secure their RSVPs right away. We see you! You are the pillars of the Dig This community, and upcoming discussions will explore ways to recognize and reward your reliability and commitment.
In closing, we ask everyone to review the current payment policy and do your best to follow the guidance provided. Doing so helps us continue operating with both compassion and flexibility, keeping Dig This Volleyball one of the most inclusive and enjoyable communities around.

Our Positional Training Series is Back!
We noticed a learning gap in our community:
Many players step into positions they’re not used to during open play.
Some are eager to volunteer but aren’t sure of the roles and responsibilities.
Others have only ever been trained in one role—and were never given the chance to explore more.
At Dig This, we’re here to change that. Our Positional Training Series helps you learn all positions, making you a more well-rounded player. Even better, trying something new might reignite your love for the game—and maybe even help you discover a position you truly enjoy.
Events are live. Limited spots. Please join the waitlist if it gets filled, we can always open more sessions based in demand. Hope you can join us!

Dig This is running a 4-week closed program for SERIOUS players looking to Level Up their game. These sessions will run in a club-like environment with intensity in drills and instruction ending with a scrimmage against a higher-level team.
The program starts in October. Players interested in joining will be committed to the full 8 sessions. There are no makeups or refunds for any missed session (similar to club and league commitments).
Your $375 tuition includes:
Unlimited 4-week personalized assessment and coaching for your position.
Exclusive, personalized sport shirt
Players must already know the how to run a 5-1 system and can be flexible playing two positions. (We unfortunately will not be able to accept beginners who are still working on fundamentals.)
Maximum of 14 players, 2 Teams. This program is co-ed. Once spots are filled, we will not be accepting new players until the next cohort (early 2026)
Two levels are offered for this program!
Beginner/Intermediate – Tues and Thurs 6:30-9:30pm starting Oct 14th – Nov 6th
Intermediate+ - Wed 6:30-9pm and Sat 4-7:30pm start Oct 11th – Nov 5th
If you want to sign up as a team, tuition will be discounted to $350/person. This is great for those already playing in a league to get more coaching. First come first serve on this offer. Payment due upon RSVP.
